Mill Rats Honour Troops Thursday Evening

(Saint John, NB): To honour Canadian Forces members and to show remembrance for the men and women who have served, and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peace, Thursday evening will be "Troops Night" at Harbour Station.

The Mill Rats will take on the Summerside Storm Thursday, November. 10th at 7pm. The Ceremonial tip-off will feature Base Commander Col. Paul Rutterford representing Canadian Forces Base Gagetown and Commander Elizabeth Syvertsen-Bitten to represent the HMCS Brunswicker. The Royal Canadian Sea Cadets No. 9 will be represented by Lt. (Navy) Christina Ebbett. The Canadian National Anthem will be performed by the Rodney Sea Cadets Band. Local MLA Trevor Holder and His Worship Mayor Ivan Court will also be involved with the Ceremonial tip-off to demonstrate local and provincial participation at "Troops Night".

Military personnel are asked to show their ID at the door to receive the Mill Rats promotional offer for $5 tickets (plus box office fee), and are also encouraged to dress in uniform. This invite is also extended to any members of the Royal Canadian Army, Navy or Air Cadets. The Royal Canadian Legion will be on hand for those who wish to acquire poppies as we encourage all those in attendance to wear one.

The Summerside Storm are ranked second in the league at 2-0. The Mill Rats are currently ranked fifth with 0-2 but are ranked first in the league for Defensive Rebounds per Game. Come support your team this Thursday as they weather the storm with a home court advantage.
